You bet it is. A recent Gallup Poll conducted for the Center for the Future of Arizona identified statewide water management as the most important infrastructure issue facing Arizona.
In response to Governor Brewer’s request to state agencies to prepare plans for reducing spending by 15-percent through the remainder of this fiscal year, the Arizona Department of Water Resources reported that several critical programs it administers would be severely cut or eliminated, including the elimination of the entire Statewide Planning Division.
If this happens, we are in a heap of trouble. I’m worried that someone would even think of eliminating this program. What do you think?
